Save your work and resume later
Most tools remember your work on this device automatically. When you change browsers, clear data, or hand off to someone else, use Export backup — then Import on the other side.
Steps
- Step 1: Same device — just come back — Outing Planner, Budget Planner, and FairShare restore your last session when you reopen the tool in the same browser. Close the tab and return tomorrow — your data is still there.
- Step 2: New device or cleared browser — In Outing, Budget, or FairShare, use Export backup in the share panel. Save the .json file. On your new device, open the same tool and Import backup — from the list screen or inside an open trip.
- Step 3: Share with a co-organiser — Export backup and send the file. They import into their Budget or Outing Planner and continue editing — same trip name, dates, and line items.
Frequently asked questions
Is my data uploaded when I export?
No. Export downloads a file to your device. You choose how to share it.
Does Rent Receipt remember my form?
Not yet — download the PDF or keep the file. Re-enter details if you need another month.
What about FairShare groups?
FairShare saves groups in localStorage and supports JSON export/import like the other planners. Budget → FairShare handoff is fastest when you already tracked spend there.
